Same thread contains a link to the hilarious story of an oblivious guy who realized that a girl was into him only after she proposed playing a Gor-based RPG campaign with him. in a forum thread about a Gor RPG funded through Indiegogo. Norman apparently read the books and thought "ditch the chivalry, this needs more rape". In Burroughs' books everyone is scantily clad and Martians practice slavery, but threats of sexual violence are used as a character trait of the villains, used as a plot device (the author loooves his damsels-in-distress, though some of them aren't entirely passive) and never fulfilled. I think it deserves mention that this is basically a rip-off of Edgar Rice Burroughs' wp:Barsoom series, down to the naming scheme ("X of Gor" instead of "X of Mars") and the fact that an Earth character has supreme strength compared to the locals because he comes from a higher-gravity world. To quote MST3K, "sorry folks, but we simply couldn't afford special effects". Outlaw of Gor was adapted into a film and later riffed in an episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000. I'm pretty sure you don't want to do that. You know what? And his relationship with the kid seemed creepy as fuck. Yeah, but he seemed to have fuck-all actual evidence for it and came across pretty paranoid (assuming we're talking the same thing here). Immediately followed by the reaction of "footnote 1 is the funniest thing on this wiki" I'll try and hunt out the "Darlington Sex Cult" article from Bizarre, definitely seemed to imply the guy was just a fantasist and didn't really own all these hot chicks who lived for him. Nebuchadnezzar ( talk) 01:46, 6 August 2011 (UTC) I'm moving this since it's a sect of the Goreans (and it's spelled wrong anyway). Wow, can't believe you have an article on these guys.
